OUR ORGANISATIONAL PROFILE
Who are we?
The National Skills Development Centre more commonly known by the abbreviation NSDC is a dynamic multifaceted Technical Vocational Skills training institution, which plays an integral role in stimulating economic growth and job creation. This is achieved through its significant contribution to the creation of a highly skilled, productive, competitive, and marketable workforce.
The NSDC operates four (4) Technical Vocational Education and Training Centres which are strategically located in the island’s four cardinal points, the Bisee Centre in the north, the Mon Repos Centre in the east, The Vieux Fort Centre in the south, and the Choiseul Centre in the west. These centers provide a variety of training related services to all St. Lucians seeking to explore or advance their career options.
The programmes being implemented at the NSDC are geared at transforming the lives of the marginalized, vulnerable, and un/underemployed individuals, as well as employed persons who require training and certification. HISTORY
The need for a comprehensive approach to technical vocational skills training and the execution of employability initiatives lead to the decommissioning of the Youth Skills Training Programme, and the establishment of the National Skills Development Centre (NSDC) in 1999. The institution was registered as a non for profit statutory body on August 18th, 1999, and officially commenced operations on February 15, 2001.
The NSDC commenced operations with a core staff of seven newly recruited, committed and excited members. The initial staff of the institution comprised of a General Manager, two counselors, an Information Communication Technology Manager, Training Coordinator, Entrepreneurship Manager, and Research Specialist.

Today, NSDC is the premier Technical Vocational Education Training institution, with centres offering a wide range of skills training areas in the construction, hospitality, agriculture, information communication technology, and other sectors.
The institution now has a compliment of ______ staff, which is ------- times the number staff which comprised the initial team. The institution has also moved on to double the floor space at its Bisee Centre, and increase its centre stock by one, with the construction of its flagship Vieux Fort Centre which opened its doors on ____ October 2011.
NSDC can today boast of training over _____ St. Lucians through collaboration with or securing funding from major international, regional and local agencies such as the European Union, World Bank, United States Agency for International Development (USAID), United Nation Education, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation, the International Youth Foundation (IYF), and Partners of the Americas in order to successful implement technical vocational oriented training employability projects.
Driven by a vision to sustain the operations of the institution the management of the NSDC has moved to establish a number of sustainable initiatives such as a Classeek restaurant at its Vieux Fort Centre, canteens at its Patience, Choiseul, and Bisee, and

The National Skills Development Centre will become a progressively viable, self sustaining institution, dedicated to the advancement of attitudes, skills and knowledge necessary for survival in the global working environment. As an open system organization, our concept of learning modalities will continuously evolve to better accommodate the diverse and dynamic needs of our clients.
Mission
The National Skills Development Centre, together with the support of the private and public sectors, will assist in providing information and training services towards developing a skilled, informed and marketable workforce, which will contribute to the development of Saint Lucians and our Regional and International partners.

GOVERNANCE
The NSDC is governed by a Board of Directors, which comprises of fourteen (14) directors. The Board is responsible for guiding the strategy formulation process of the organization, and establishing and continuously monitoring policies, aimed at enhancing the prosperity and viability of the institution.
